Skid Steer Training
Program Description
This program will discuss topics relating to the safe use and operation of skid steer loaders. The practical component of this program is conducted at the client location and instructs participants on the use of skid steer loaders at their facility.
Operators are given a written test and a hands-on evaluation. This course will provide the attendee with a Skid Steer Certificate upon successful completion of both theoretical and practical components.
Program Overview
This comprehensive program is designed in two parts to provide theoretical and practical training to facilitate compliance for workers using this type of equipment.
A few of the area covered by the theoretical training are:
- Performing of pre-shift inspection
- Relevant Provincial and Federal Legislation
- Pedestrian Awareness
- Stability Principles: Skid Steer Loader Design and Operation
- Operation of Equipment
- Parts of a Skid Steer Loader/Pre-Shift Inspection
- Fuel Sources (Diesel and/or Propane)
- General Safety Rules/Guidelines
This program meets the requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Construction and Industrial Regulations and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standards
Certification is valid for 3 years upon completion.

- Individual wallet certificates for successful participants
Duration:
Program duration varies depending on the number of participants and level of experience.
However, allot a half day for the training as a minimum. Training takes place at your location.
